The energy and commitment that is put into birth and parenting is not given the respect and admiration it deserves. We live in a time when people are expected to transition into parenthood with very few supports. Pregnancy, birth and early postpartum are immensely rewarding, but demanding and challenging as well. You deserve a village to support you through these changes. Whether you’re looking for someone to answer your questions, hold your hand or guide you through the many choices you are expected to make, you deserve a doula. Read more to see what kind of support I offer, and get in touch to learn more.
“To say that Kira is a gift to the doula profession is an understatement. She is extremely talented, tremendously knowledgeable, and phenomenally skilled. It is with every confidence that we recommend Kira Liss as your doula. Our family is better for having had her in our lives.”

Postpartum Doula Support
The transition into parenthood always easy, and I understand! Having extra support in those first few weeks after your birth can hugely affect how you settle into life with your little one. The role of a postpartum doula is dynamic and flexible. Our visits last a minimum of three hours and include a chance to discuss what is most important for you that day. So what does a postpartum doula do? As your postpartum doula, I will:
- Support you in the transition into your new role
- Teach baby care basics
- Answer your questions about feeding, sleep, etc.
- Empower you to find out what works for you and your baby
- Help around the house with light housekeeping and meal preparation
- Listen to your birth experience
- Care for your little one if you want some rest, a shower or a moment to yourself
